Today is World Vape Day, the day that the world comes together to celebrate vaping! In honour of this year's World Vape Day, which has fallen on 30 May 2021, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the benefits of vaping that scientific research has confirmed over the years.
Vaping Helps Smokers Quit
Many of our customers here at Vaper Empire already know that vaping is an effective tool for quitting smoking. Last year, one of the largest vaping studies to date found smokers who use e-cigarettes to be nearly twice as likely to quit smoking as smokers who don't use e-cigs.
A study led by postdoctoral researcher Karolien Adriaens of the KU Leuven research university in Belgium found that roughly one in five smokers managed to completely quit smoking after six months of buying their first electronic cigarette.
In New Zealand, a study led by Professor Richard Edwards of the University of Otago, Wellington found that New Zealand's smokers are using e-cigarettes more than ever to quit smoking.
In the United Kingdom, vaping is helping over 50,000 smokers quit each year, according to the estimate of a study led by researchers at University College London that was supported by Cancer Research UK.
Research has shown vaping to be almost twice as effective as nicotine patches, gum, and other traditional nicotine replacement therapies.
Vaping Is Less Harmful Than Smoking
The scientific evidence that vaping is less harmful than smoking continues to pile up. Here's a look back at just some of what we've seen to date:
- NHS Health Scotland referred to using e-cigarettes as "definitely" less harmful than smoking.
- World Health Organisation (WHO) scientist Dr Ranti Fayokun admitted that e-cigarettes are less harmful than cigarettes.
- Public Health England's independent e-cigarette evidence review estimated e-cigarettes to likely be at least 95% less harmful than smoking.
- Renowned dental expert and president of the Philippine College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Fernando Fernandez urged smokers unable to quit smoking to switch to vaping products as a harm reduction measure.
Switching To E-Cigs Shows Long-Term Benefits To COPD Smokers
Smokers suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) may see long-term benefits from switching to vaping, according to the findings of a study led by award-winning Professor Riccardo Polosa of the University of Catania's Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine. You can learn more about this study and its findings here.
Vaping Is Cheaper Than Smoking
Beyond the health benefits of switching from smoking to vaping, there are also potential cost savings that many of our customers are already well aware of. When switching to vaping, the savings can be impressive, especially for smokers in Australia and New Zealand where cigarette prices are already sky-high. The potential savings for smokers down under can easily amount to thousands of dollars each year, providing smokers with yet another reason to make the switch.
At Vaper Empire, we carry everything that smokers need to switch to vaping. This includes premium e-juice available in numerous flavours and nicotine strengths, easy to use vape starter kits, replacement parts, and accessories. We also provide support to our customers through our Australia-based customer service team, which is trained to help guide new customers to the right vaping products to suit their needs.
