The tide is turning in the UK as Boots and Lloyds pharmacies begin to stock e-cigarettes. In the UK, there is still some uncertainty as to how the products shall be licensed and a final decision by the MRHA is expected to be proposed soon. However, the pharmacies mentioned have already begun to stock the product seeing their value and potential sales despite no set decision.
The only potential downside here is that both the brands on offer are owned by big tobacco firms - Imperial Tobacco and British American Tobacco. Although it is great news that e-cigarettes are getting continued exposure, do we really want to leave e-cigs in the hands of those that have been quite happy to sell conventional cigarettes to the population knowing the irreparable damage that they have done?
